A friend of mine has the Deep Rock Galactic board game that comes with multiple figures that can be painted.
Here’s a gallery with ~27 pictures. This project took me 5.5 hours to complete.
Things I learned:
- I mostly followed this video’s approach to painting the figures. Here’s a clip from the video game of the enemies in action.
- I originally picked four different yellow/orange shades but only needed two: maize yellow and zealot yellow (Army Speedpaint).
- For the previous two minis I did a wash of the Vallejo terra and wasn’t pleased, so I tried a black wash first with drybrushing of terra.
- The idea of making the pustules glossy was my idea. I figured that because I had the “business end” of the spitball infectors also glossy, this addition would make the figures stand out on the game table.
