In the previous post I filled the numerous gaps where the pieces didn’t quite line up. This post covers prepping the main aircraft body for painting by applying some primer. I also filmed my typical airbrush cleaning routine.
Description
- Cleaned up the model with a toothbrush and water to remove any sanding dust and fingerprints
- Used some foam packing material I had lying about to mask off the cockpit
- Applied several coats of Alclad Grey Primer & Microfiller (ALC 302) using the airbrush at 15 psi
- Cleaned the airbrush using lacquer thinner (because the primer is lacquer-based)
- Personal protective equipment
- 3M mask with #60923 filters
- Uvex eye mask
- Spray booth
