A friend of mine recently got a 3d printer and wanted a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles item to go on a memorabilia shelf. This took me about 2-3 hours to plan and execute.
Here’s a gallery with 25 pictures.
Things I tried / learned:
- Here’s the Makerworld link based on the poster for the 1990 movie.
- Unlike my other minis, this didn’t have example images or videos for me to copy. I made the plan myself based on what I learned from painting other minis.
- Rather than smooth the stair-stepped edges, I left the piece as is to see how it turned out. The diameter is 5 cm, so sanding likely would have been impractical.
- I used Alclad lacquer metallics with the airbrush for the manhole cover and hand painted acrylics (mostly Army Speedpaint) for the rest. To finish the piece, I used gloss clear lacquer to simulate a wet environment.
- Yes, I listened to the movie’s rad soundtrack while planning and painting.
