The One Way I Know a Team is in Trouble (via Software Lead Weekly)
- False harmony — things look good on the surface but underneath there’s confusion, uncertainty, and turmoil.
- This arises when there’s the idea that harmony is good and discord is bad, unaddressed toxic behavior, lack of rules for engagement, strong personalities dominating the discussion, thinking of the group as functions rather than a team.
- To address the issue, create work norms, don’t let negative behavior fester, don’t let one voice dominate, and build connective tissues on the team.
