Potentially you could have LLMs pore over all of the engineering residue (PRs, code committed, Slack messages, Zoom transcripts) to surface insights about your employees. However, there’s enough room for error and managers may solely rely on the machine to help them know their people. It could also help assign the best engineer to the job. However, the machine doesn’t have context about professional growth and relationship interactions. It could also help automate performance reviews. However, if the whole context isn’t available, results will be lacking; plus, people can learn to trick the system.
