This step was about assembling the air intakes.
Here’s the gallery with 16 images of this step.
Lessons learned in this step:
- Metal files (versus sandpaper or sanding sticks) help quickly remove super glue (a.k.a. CA glue).
- I shouldn’t have used an old tube of CA glue. It ended up thicker and thus harder to work into the ejector pin marks, meaning it didn’t “level” correctly.
- I probably should have glued the intake halves together first so I could fully smooth out the seams on the inside, and then painted after those seams were gone.
- I decided to leaving the seams around where the intakes are glued to the fuselage, as reference photos show gaps there.
This step took just over three hours.
